Vale -Matt Hughes

Dear God - I was only watching him on Storm Chasers yesterday.

Matt Hughes who wason of the new the Met guides for the TIV2 team has died suddenly. I am in total shock. He is a wonderful individual and a well respected meteorologist and chaser. My thoughts in some small way to his family at this time.

I'm in shock too, Mike. It's so upsetting.

I always remember him re-assuring Sean that everything would be ok when Sean was having a downer just after they started working together and just thinking wow, what a nice guy.

I feel so much for his family and friends, it's devastating when someone so young passes away.

At this time I'm not sure how this happened, nor anyone else.

Very sad news to come outta the states. My thoughts too go out to everyone close to him.

i was watching peoples status updates on facebook a couple of days ago with this news as ther title, and it was a shock, at first i didnt know who it was, then i was even more shocked when i realised who it was, as i was just watching season 3 of storm chasers again, and was watching the episodes with him in..

This was really tragic, and shocking news, all in a one-er! I was a little in disbelief when I read about Matt's passing. I can't begin to imagine how hard this must be on his family and friends! A real loss to the weather and storm chasing community in the US too.

I read that the cause of his passing was not related to storm chasing, and the exact nature has not been disclosed out of respect to his family. He was admitted to hospital in a critical condition and soon-after passed away.

A real tragic loss, and one that brings home just how we can't take anything for granted! Every day is a gift!
