Having a scan through SAT 24 and came across this from Central Africa. Certainly looks like some huge T/Storms firing up just inland in the RH corner.

Mike to me it looks as if there could be a bit of Convergance there ?
Having what looks like things pushing in from the right and up against what must be warm/moist air off the ocean ?

Certainly impressive !

But just how bad is that, im looking at Africa for a storm, although its closer than Darwin i suppose. Mike wheres the place where theres 300+ T/Storm days a year, wouldnt mind finding SAT images for that place.

Yes the African Congo basin has at least 200 storm days per year, but being smack on the Equator might have something to do with it! Storms in this region are not uncommon throughout any given period and those sat images certainly show some nice storms inland from the coastal regions.

I reckon I'd go to Florida first...loads of storms and waterspouts every day there...they have the same type of storms we get...lightning active...Smile

I'm over tornadoes even though I've never seen one....I would dread the thought being a lightning photographer and the tour van saying okay no tornado, time to head back to the hotel...I'd say ...'Are you kidding me? This thing will go nuts at nightfall!'

Very true that Mike.
And if im honest yes the Tornadoes are seen as the Big Boys of severe weather, i guess most think that way but certainly my original draw to all this was T/Storms and Lightning. Thats why i travelled to Darwin as you know too well !
So to go somewhere that has regular strong Lightning active storms is going push all the right buttons for me bounce

So maybe i now need to type, Mike when are we going to Florida ?
Because if you were going and i could be there as well...well you know the answer Embarassed

I better add that im not about to become a stalker or anything, but if you do go.... Wink
