| And continuing on... Weather is going to be wet and windy everywhere. Keep an eye on the end of the week now, Thursday and Friday will see another deep Low track this time across Scotland, with the jetstream blowing right across the southern half of the UK. One to watch. Right now though, some real heavy rain in the south, enough for the MetO to issue a weather warning. | |

| Definitely keeping an eye on that interesting LP moving our way on Thursday Wazza. Nice one Wazza, I see NW have issued alerts already.
I meant to add too, that if anybody is interested in the raw weather data from my setup yesterday, the raw log is available for download here:

| No probs Wazza (the raw data link is a metweather exclusive by the way ) Give me a shout if there's anything in there that doesn't make sense. Windspeed is in MPH, the rest of the values are metric. | |

| Just getting onto this one and liking what im seeing. Maybe worse than Sunday in my opinion. With it being centered over Scotland and then tracking in an Easterly direction far more of the country will see raised wind speeds. Again this will be coupled with High Tides and heavy rain.
Could be an interesting one, just considering making another trip to the coast.

LOL, good stuff Wazza.. as you say, once you've got a handle on the columns of data, it's not too scary. There's probably loads more information in there than any normal human being needs. LOL Watching this latest system with great interest!! Seems to be getting more intense by the minute! There's talk of it tracking further north which could bring much stronger winds to Scotland (ace!). Starting to wonder if I should head out in the lab tomorrow now, but I'll need to see what's happening in the morning me thinks. Right.. off to bed now (even though I'd love to stay up for the 18Z). Up at 5am again tomorrow

| I'm beginning to wonder whether setting out after this storm is a good idea?...
Certainly a level 5 alert is quite serious, and with the threat of falling trees and damaging gusts, maybe not such a good idea.
I will see what happens with the latest runs!

| Ok... Looking at the south coast, we are looking at gusts now of maximum 60mph according to the latest data and reports. Nothing spectacular, and considering low tide throughout the time frame too, not really worth me going down there. The NW deffo seems to be the better bet, with average winds above 60mph with gusts reaching 90mph, maybe more! There is some nice agreement with the models now as we move ever closer, so getting easier to see where is going to be affected. | |

| Right, According to latest forecasts, wind gusts even across the mainland could reach 80mph on western facing hills. May stay local as the closest I can get to the target area is 3hrs drive minimum!!! Another thing is that it will be dark by the time the strongest winds arrive, meaning I'm not going to see much anyway and I don't fancy getting caught up in anything too bad. I know some awesome western facing hills close by so may see what they bring. | |

| Just got home and the wind is picking up a bit here, but we're not expected to get the sort of gusts forecast for parts of England unfortunately. Here's a recent pressure chart from the weather station at home: | |

| Wow that is something Graham. Love the wind profiles there too. Going to go out in an hour orso, winds due to be blowing a gale around 10pm onwards. Heading to Silverstone as it's wide open up there. And on high ground.
I have a handheld anemometer to record max gusts etc, and will have my Internet for live updates.

| Nice work Wazza!! My top stats so far are: Still blowing around the 30-40MPH gust mark here, but the barometer is on the rise again (up to 958mb now) which would indicate the centre has passed over and is heading out to the North Sea. But this is when they expected the winds to pickup, so watch this space | |

| Nice work Graham! You git the same high gust as me there roughly.
At home now, the highest gust was around 42mph on my handheld. Not as severe as I was expecting. All quietened down now which is odd, as we are supposed to be getting the highest gusts now.
Dunno what went wrong!
I'll post a bit of video I got tomorrow.
